  1. I could relate to the black kid that said when him and friends woulds go to the store he was treated differently then other customers I can relate with that because when me and a group of friends for in a store it upsets me to see the workers following us around watching what were doing when we go in the storei feel very disrespected so we and my friennds always end up leaving even if what we wanted was in the store for half the original price.

  3. A racism is a person that is racist to other people. For example disliking and being mean to someone because of their color. One of the things I remember was when me and my 2 friends when off to buy shoes at the store and the lady was following us around the store and I felt disrespected.

  7. The african american kid was humiliated. it wasnt fair that even after he bought the shirt he got searched. it was embarrising for him because he was the only person in the store that was being watched very closely then gets searched. i can related to this because one time i went into a store and was being watched very closely. And i noticed i was the only one being watched. i felt just the same way , embarrased!

  8. I can relatet ot he african american boy that was talking about the siuation he goes through when going into the store. It relates to me because I have noticed whenever African American people going into stores the security and store people tend to have a habit to watch them closely. I think the emotion is like singled out because other races can walk in instead of having to know they are being watched as if they are going to steal something. And i remeber a time when i walked into a store with friends and like the store employees were following us but, trying to act as if they were doing something in our area. But, i think African Americans give themselves a reason to be watched based on the others actions. But, I think they should not be stereotyped because they are not all the same. And personally I think it should be ignored there are more things in life and people have all their own problems to me it is very irrevelant.

  13. The mong girl was called a jap and other rasist slurrs and i think that its wrong to sterotype people by the way they look. My expirience was similar because i am a latin american and i was told by a white man if i was illegal or from mexico.

  16. some of the students or people that have been abused by racism they seem to experience stress and low self esteam and less desire to acomplish their goal's...I have also seen that people that get sterio typed in school they often stop going to school....

  18. "A Salute to Hispanic Excellence" was about racism towards hispanic students, they were sharing their experiences, for example people calling them taco, burrito, and many other names. The emotions that they experience was that some student felt uncomfortable by people calling them names and sometimes it was their own culture. other students stated that they were hispanics, but not mexicans like others said. A releted event in my life is when i go to any store for example CVS they always look at me or come and check me just because of how I look, mexican and have tatoos.

  19. speeking for myself i have not eperienced racism .
I feel that some people who do experience this dont pay any attention to what others say about them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. one of the students was talking about how there is a lot of name calling. the emotions they may feel from this is uncompertable, upset, hurt, annoyed, or irritatede. when folkks are racist towards me it usually doesnt effect me but occasionally i do get annoyed.

  24. In the clip What is Racism there was a African American boy who talked about a insident at a store when he got searched by security after buying a shirt. I felt bad for the kid because he got searched even thoe he bought some thing at the store. I can relate to this boy because some times when i step into a store i get looked at like if im going to steal some thing. When I am going to buy some thing there but it doesnt even bother me because I no that im not a thief.

    ReplyDelete
  25. i guess to me as my perspective one they evoke sadness and sarrow and descrimination and two i guess u say im asian and you make fun of me and that doesnt bother me at all because i dont get mad i get even

    ReplyDelete
  26. i can relate to the black kid that talks about the store. because evrytime i walk in a liqoure store i got people watching me. that really bothers me because they do that because the way i dress and they dont even know me. i know that alot of people rob those kind of stores, but that doesn't mean they can judge me. also everytime i walk my grandmother to the bank i got security's looking at me like if i was going to do something and i really hate that.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I relatee with the black kid because its true just because your hispanic and you go to the store owned by another race besides your own they fallow you around the store and dont get their eye of you they think your going to jack something, with the mong girl shes not even chinese and they call her chinese girl if they want to call her names atleast know her race instead of judging her for what shes not people call me the mexican girl when really they dont know if i aint mexican or mixed or i can be another race get to know what their real race is then judge.

  28. I know how that mexican girl feel likes cause in middel school there was this one guy that us to call me name that i didnt like at all

  29. I chose a story i can relate to, which would be the african american's experience when he went into a store. He bought a shirt and while walking out a security officer searched him. My expirience didnt quite happen like this but it was some what familiar. When i went to a store with a bunch of my friends i noticed this one person being around us in different locations. Once we got what we had to buy and payed for it at the door that same guy stopped us and asked if he can see our backpacks. Once he was done searching he let us go. I guess he thought we were going to steal something. This guys experience made him feel down. This made him feel like this because he was thought of a thief only because he was black.

  30. Racims to me is jugeing someone on how they look or dress or how they act.like for an exmaple how they were saying look at the little chinese girl we should beat her up. she was mad and she was scared and she not even chinese she look like it but she not.I can relate to them by me and my friend were touring the high school and we were on the football felid and we seen a bunch of mexcain and she yelled out look at them bean burrito, and i felt bad cause they were mad

  31. I could relate to the black guy who was speaking on how everytime he walks into a store of some sort they think he's up to no good

  32. I think that racism is very dumb because you never know how you make someone feel after you bully them because im pretty sure you never think about how it makes them feel. I also think that people should always treat others the way they want to be treated. I personally read the book bullied and it made me start thinking like how would I feel if I bullied someone and they killed their self. Many kids kill their self because others are bullying them. I can relate to those people stories because I got talked about at school because I brought some kool aid to school and they talked about me and they started to crack jokes about it and I didnt think that it was funny at all.

  33. my feelings that i feel are bad when i here someone was put down while they were little and they had to listen everyday to bad kids talking about them. the way i was growing up in elementary school i was teased of being chinese becuase of my eyes being slanted but they are normal now and noone really says anything but when they found out that i was mexican and guamanian they weren't trippen

  34. I think that that the kids in the video are saynig their emotions to try to show how they feel and to show people that racial should stop because everyone is the were all humans we all have everything thing the same. People shouldent be raciast to other people just because how they look their skin color, wat they and stuff like that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Asian girl that first showed up in the video, I understand where she's coming from, because people judge anyone by the way they look. Like I to have been judged just because my skin is brown. For that girl to suffer because she looks Chineese or Japaneese. Or by the way her eyes are. I think that she was really mad but also sad, because she felt really hurt for the way people judged her.

  36. when the black kid walked in the store is a good example of how theres still racism and ive seen it many times before and its crooked but thats the world we live in

  37. I guess i can relate to them cause im black and mexica, and white people look at me stupid cause the way i look. I got a little mad for a minute cause they were fucking ignorant. Like when i walk into a store and the follow me everywhere.

  38. I can relate to the guy that went to the store and they thought he was gonna steal.
whenever i go to the store by my house the owner always looks at the mirrors he has to make sure i dont take anything.

  39. I can totally agree with Tito

  40. The Kids in the video were saying there feelings because there trying to show people how racial can occurred around and it can reflect to anyone. We all humans, well all are the same but in a different way. Just cause we all got different color skin doesnt mean you can treat someone differently. We should all be respected the same way.

  44. I liked mayra janets and titos.I liked mayra and janets beacause of course i was their when it happened. But I also lik beacause it took alot for us just to walk out of the store without what we wanted even after we busted a big mission to get to that store. I also liked Titos because when i first met him me and other students thought he was mexican. When i finally met him and got to know i ended up finding out he wasnt mexican and i felt kinda bad. It made me think of the saying "Never judge a book by its cover".

  45. i could relate to almost all the stotries like everyone says when you go to a store they think that you are gonna come up on something just because the way that you look or the people that you hang around with.

  46. i can relate to the african american kid, tha reason i say i can relate to him is because i was doin a little christmas shopping recently and i didnt know who i wanted to get a gift for yet. A store worker comes and ask me can i help you with anything i say no im looking right now so i guess she figures i dont have any money so
she tells another worker watch me and the worker she told to watch me was my friend and he told me what she said about me
